I need to post about our Christmas and I will but I was feeling nostalgic so I thought I would take a look back at 2009.
January 2009
- JT was dealing with job issues like most of the country
- We celebrated my cousin’s 30th birthday in style
- We played in some snow
- As a family we visited the arch, it was a first for the kids
February 2009
- JT and I celebrated 10 years of marriage by going to Chuck E Cheese with the kids, N8 and C. We did other stuff too.
- I discovered Bead for Life parties
- We had a lovely Valentine’s Party at my moms with family in attendance
March 2009
- Celebrated cousins and friends birthdays at Monkey Joes
- Prepared for kindergarten by attending a meeting
- A playdate with an old friend so our kids could meet
- Playdates over spring break with cousins and friends
- Started preparing for L’s birthday party by making invitations and such
- An outing with Nana and Papa
- JT finally found a job
April 2009
- L turned 5 and we celebrated with a Fancy Nancy party
- L’s official 5th birthday was on Easter, I forgot just how fantastic that Easter was
- My mom, husband and friend surprised me with a DSLR for my birthday
- L experimented with scissors and cut her hair
- JT was hit by a car downtown
- Swim lessons and soccer started
- I broke my tooth (still don’t have that fixed)
May 2009
- Had a wonderful Mother’s Day
- The gas man came to change our meter and caused a leak in our line
- It was a month full of injuries
- JT and I started the Jillian workout 30 Day Shred
June 2009
- Started the summer out great with some “field trips” with friends. The History Museum and the Gardens
- Attended Circus Flora with the kids
- Saw the movie Up at theaters
- Father’s Day with just us
- Visited a local Farmer’s Market
July 2009
- We built a huge play fort in the backyard
- Started taking a photography class
- My brother became engaged
- Started working for Holly McCaig as a photographer’s assistant
- Started a produce co-op here in the city
- Had my first photo session, an engagement session for my brother and C
August 2009
- Preparations began and kindergarten started
- J turned 4 and we had a superhero party that I never blogged about. I’m still gonna do that one day
- Took Daddy to Six Flags for J’s birthday and to celebrate being together before school started
September 2009
- J started preschool
- JT had a birthday where we celebrated by having sushi
- I got a new tattoo on my foot
- Took the kids to their first baseball game
October 2009
- A family practice session
- My first kids photoshoot
- A fire troupe photoshoot
- Found out our dog Rudy has cancer
- J was sick on Halloween, he was supposed to be Scooby Doo
- L was a flower pot for Halloween and it was a HUGE success
- My grandmother broke her hip
- Two field trips a cold one for L, J’s first (I never blogged that one)
- Barnum and Bailey Bros Circus came to town
- Family trip to the patch
- My mom’s annual wineries birthday trip
- A trip to Kansas City to visit friends
- SK took our family pictures
November 2009
- L got her ears pierced
- I was featured in a Fix-It Friday with a pretty picture of L
- School pictures arrived
- Quit working for Holly McCaig and started hollajane photography
- Thanksgiving parties at school
- Thanksgiving with family
- Thanksgiving with in-laws
December 2009
- Had a newborn session
- We welcomed Murray the elf
- A nice St. Nicholas Day
- Decorated the outside in true Griswold fashion
- Christmas school concert
- Ballet recital for both kids
- Visited Santa
- Christmas portraits
- Christmas parties at school (blog to come)
- Traditions like the train display at the Gardens
- A wonderful Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and a Christmas Saturday (blog to come)
So excited about a new year a little sad to say goodbye to 2009. The year seems awfully long when your faced with it head on but before you know I’ll blink again and we’ll be right back here ready to bring in 2011.
