Writing Doldrums Solved

So usually on Mondays I will write about our weekend but not a single interesting thing happened to us this weekend. I decided to turn to a lovely new blog I discovered by the name of Absolutely Bananas. Every Monday she has a topic for you to write about. Isn’t that awesome. Talk about breaking the writers block doldrums. I’ve decided to play along. You should too. Check it out.

Here is my list of 10 Things I’ve Learned from my Children (with pictures).

#1 Use your imagination. You hand a child (in my experience usually a boy) something that he’s never played with before ie: a fishing pole, umbrella, golf club, shovel, stick or vacuum tool, it can become a sword.

#2 Collect things you love so you can surround yourself with happiness. The more stuffed animals or toys you have in your bed the better you sleep.

#3 Take time to enjoy your food. Ice cream is yummy when you can eat it off your tummy.

#4 Look for fun in everything you do. An entire spilled container of Nesquik can make a wonderful playground for Peter Pan.

#5 There’s always more than one way to do a task. For instance, washing a car can be done by using a water gun.

#6 It’s never to early to learn a new skill. Don’t you have to be able to see over the steering wheel in order to drive?

#7 Accept who you are and love yourself. Being “petite” isn’t such a bad thing, at least you get a front row view of life.

#8 Stop what you’re doing and have some fun. What’s more fun than a pile of leaves.

#9 Find common interests with those you love. Reading with your Daddy can be lots of fun as long as it’s an interesting topic, like toys.

#10 Take a time out now and then, life can get pretty crazy and wear you out.

I really am going to have to try eating ice cream without clothes on now! Both you and Absolutely bananas have said that it’s the best way to go!

I also love #4 and #8. We all need to remember to take time to enjoy ourselves more often.

    Thanks for your post!
