We woke up this morning to cold weather (not Iowa weather, but still cold for May 3rd) and a cloudy day, thought with this info the day would suck, but not so. L needed some new tights and some leotards for dance class so we headed out to purchase those, we stopped for some grocery shopping, some cups of coffee and then on to dance class. No fits from the kids, lovely morning all in all.
At dance class I was able to sit and shoot the breeze with my friend House of Primates, solving all of our parenting dilemas. After dance class we came home and I played on the pc until nap time for J. I put J down and while I was pittering around the house this is what I found on the couch…
So what did I do? I was the only one awake in the house you see, so I gathered a drink, my favorite snacks (a chocolate hostess pie and a handful of sunflower seeds) and a movie I have been dying to see, 27 Dresses (pretty good actually, right up my alley, sweet chic flick that ended well). I had an EXCELLENT afternoon. Wow! Who knew all it took were three other human beings sleeping soundly. This will become a brand new Saturday tradition. I do have to end on this note… I am REALLY tired right now. Oh well, it was worth missing my own nap.
On a sad note: The story of Eight Belles from the Kentucky Derby is so extremely sad, not quite a lovely day for that poor girl. I can’t even imagine.

It’s so nice to have some Me Time. I had some today and it was fab. Missed my girls by the time it was over. Just what I needed!
I know right… now if only I could get a date with my husband it would be a perfect world this weekend.
